Monday

Today was Monday, and BOY OH BOY it was a MON-Day. You know, the kind of Monday that gives other Mondays a bad name. The kind that makes you want to cry when bedtime on Sunday night rolls around. YEAH. One of those.

While I was in college, I worked full-time at a bank inside of Wal-Mart. We were open seven days a week, 8 am to 7 pm everyday except Sundays when we were open 10 am to 4 pm. It was a great job for me through school, because I was able to work full-time, but always be off by 7pm. Pretty sweet. The thing that ALWAYS bummed me out at that job was working weekends. I would especially dread Sundays. I suppose because I figure if I'm out of bed and dressed, I should at least get 8 hours of credit for it. One of the things I looked forward to the most about graduating was working Mon-Fri, 8-5. Like "normal" people, ya know? Well, now here I am, 8ish months past graduation, wishing that I could spread out my 40 hour work week over SEVEN weekdays rather than hum-drum 8-5 Mon-Fri. Yes, I recently started my grad program, and yes this is influencing my opinion, but I have come to the conclusion that when I do have weekends off with no plans, I TOTALLY waste them. Lately I have spent them doing some homework and spending some time with hubby, but I don't think it fully makes up for the fact that when I get home from work Mon-Fri around 5:30, I spend the rest of the night doing school stuff until bed time.

Long story short, I guess I'm learning that old saying about the grass being greener is totally true, and MAYBE, just maybe, I NEED to learn to love my life WHEN it's happening...and stop trying SO hard to be in control of said life. This is me, people, learning and growing! :)

U Tube

Two posts in one day. I'm officially addicted. Or just avoiding the tons tons TONS of school work that I'm behind on. ANYWAY-

I'm in love with youtube, and I think you should be too. So, I'm going to share some of the coolest things I have found (or been lead to) on there.

Here goes:

This video is of some kids in a ballet class doing Soulja Boy. It just makes me smile.

Then, there is this whole channel called Food Rants. My former youth pastor started it, and I just think he is hilarious. Almost as funny as his wife! So, check it out.

And if you like food rants, check out pop rants.

And because I wonder if Madonna is regretting changing her WHOLE accent for a man:

Because Peyton Manning is so loved in our home:

Okay, that is it for now. Let me know what your favorite youtube picks are.

So, lately I have been wanting to work on making our house look nicer. The only thing is, we have a budget. This budget is something like $0. :) Just kidding. But mostly I'm trying not to spend any money. I have been able to find a couple of new things that I think are going to spruce it up in here. I have purchased a new paisley shower curtain from Target. I love paisley! I also got some cute new curtains from Urban Outfitters for the living room. They are at urbanoutfitters.com and they are called Gesabel. Anyway, I'll post pics once I put them up in the house because apparently I'm unable to copy/paste pictures from the net.
