Cupcake Crazy

I've always heard that when you get pregnant your baby borrows your brain, and this was definitely the case when I was pregnant with Manning. I became so scatter-brained and just did silly things. I thought for sure that when he was born I'd get to have my brain back...unfortunately I think it's just gotten worse through his first year and now with my second pregnancy. I swear, I tell people almost on a daily basis "Sorry, I'm crazy."

Sunday night I had a craving for something sweet and I decided to make some red velvet cupcakes. I made them and Nate & I had a few...each... and he asked me how I was going to cover them so they would be good the next day. I told him not to worry I'd take care of it. Fast forward to Monday morning. I walk into the kitchen to find the cupcakes I had just left on the stove with no cover. I rolled my eyes and Nathan covered them for me.

Then, tonight Nathan is working late and I had leftover spaghetti for dinner around 6:30 and couldn't quit thinking about how much I'd like something sweet to eat. I sat in the living room trying to think of what we had bought when we grocery shopped this week that could possibly be a sweet treat for me...I walked into the kitchen with the intentions of having a bowl of cereal and guess what, there were still red velvet cupcakes on the stove. Duh! Is it seriously normal for a 24 year old woman to forget she made two dozen cupcakes less than 48 hours ago? It gets worse. I walked to the fridge to grab some milk to have with my cupcakes. I grabbed the skim milk and a cup out of the cabinet, as well as the saucer to put my cupcake(s) on. I kid you not when I tell you I opened that milk right up and instead of pouring it in the cup, poured it all over the saucer. SERIOUSLY. WHO DOES THAT?!

I guess I better be done birthing babies after this pregnancy or I won't be fit to raise the ones I have! :)

  1. Oh my, I TOTALLY understand. It's amazing what we sacrifice for our kiddos, even before they're born! :)
