Getting Big!

Our "little" guy is getting more and more round as the days go on. I love every chunky little bit of him. He wore a six month outfit today at ten weeks old. *tear*

Happy 2 Months Manning Parker!

Manning is TWO months old as of 1-15-2010. We are so proud of our little man and thankful for him! We celebrated by eating at our FAVORITE cajun seafood restaurant last night- Boudreaux's. SO good. So, what is Manning up to these days? Well...

In one month his 0-3 month clothes went from being loose and long to snug. We are still wearing them, but I don't think they will last until 3 months!

He is still a super happy little fellow! Manning rarely cries. He grunts a lot. When he's hungry he normally just grunts at us until we get the bottle in his mouth. He does cry loudly when we take the bottle away to burp him, which happens frequently each feeding due to his reflux!

Manning has MASTERED smiling. He loves to smile at his mama and dada, which melts our hearts! Recently I spent a night away from Manning for work and when I got home I walked in the door and walked up to him and said "Hi Buddy!" and he just gave me the biggest gummy grin I've ever seen.

Manning is starting to nap shorter lengths of time and less frequently throughout the day. Thankfully, he is starting to sleep LONGER periods at night, and one night (the one I was out of town!) slept from 10 PM to 6 AM. I believe the re-introduction of swaddling has been a major contributing factor.

Manning is no longer on Zantac for his reflux. It was not doing the trick. He is now on Prilosec. It is working, but I think his dose might need to be adjusted again. With him growing so fast it's hard to keep up! We have our 2 month appointment in a few weeks, so I will ask about increasing his dosage then, if not before.

Manning is now eating a SIX OUNCE bottle every three to four hours. PIGGY!

The food must be working because Mr. Manning is now up to twelve pounds! This means he has almost doubled his birth weight in TWO months. Fantastic!!!

Blogger is being crazy so all images are below!

This week I went back to work, but it was sort of short-lived because of the horrible winter storm we got yesterday I left after a half-day, and I didn't go in today. In the past I always braved the snow to drive to work, but with a baby in the backseat it's just not worth the risk of getting stuck somewhere. Nathan went to work this morning and his usual 15 minute drive took close to an hour, ending with him having to be pulled by a chain behind a co-worker's truck! This is crazy. Here is a link to our local news station's website if you'd like to see what craziness is going on here! This is a picture I took out of our back door last night around 8 PM. This started around 11 AM and went through the night.

Since it's the new year I thought I'd share with you a few of my favorite things right now.

1. Same Kind of Different as Me
Through the blog world, I stumbled onto this online book club. This was definitely something God intended because this might be the best book I've ever read- and it's non-fiction! I'm totally a fiction reader, so this is new to me.

2. GumDrop Pacifiers
Since coming home from the hospital Manning has been using a soothie pacifier, but it was quickly becoming obvious that he couldn't breathe through his nose as well when sleeping with this pacifier in. I didn't want to change his pacifier type, but wasn't sure we could keep using the soothie. Around this time Jenna posted about GumDrop pacifiers, which are the same nipple as the soothie but have the typical pacifier shape. Manning is a big fan, and mama is too. In fact, I ordered FOURTEEN! I wonder if that's enough to last until we wean? :)

3. Archer Farms Black & White Trail Mix
I cannot even begin to describe to you how much I love this stuff. I couldn't find a link or a picture, but trust me. Go to Target and buy some. You won't be sorry.

4. Ugg Boots
I've wanted to buy Ugg boots for a few years now, more for style than practicality. This year I decided when my mother-in-law took me shopping for Christmas I'd get these. I am now a HUGE fan. It's more than I'd normally spend on shoes, but I want another pair next winter. They are so warm and comfortable. I also have to say- wear them without socks. I know that sounds gross but that's what they told me at the store. I resisted it at first, but when I did it is SO awesome. They are so soft and warm and my feet don't get sweaty at all.
5. Gussy's Etsy shop
I saw one of Gussy's cute pouches on the Nester's blog, and I clicked over. My word, I LOVE this etsy shop. While I have not ordered anything yet, it's only a matter of time. I just can't decide what I want...and she keeps talking about adding lots of new stuff this weekend, so the time might just come! I love, love, love her style and I cannot wait to order something soon.
6. My new job
I'm a little premature on this, but I know that I will love it! When I went back to work at the bank I turned in my two weeks notice because I've FINALLY found a job doing marketing/sales/advertising- the field I've been wanting to work in since graduating from college in 2008. I am so excited to start. I think it will be a great fit for me and our family. I start on MLK Jr. Day!
What are you loving in 2010? Please share.
