Happy 3 Months Manning Parker!

This post is a day late. Last night Nathan met me after work for dinner at our local Japanese restaurant. While we were there, Manning was happy and alert, and drank a bottle. From the time we put him into the car around 6:45 until we finally woke him up after 10 for a bottle, he slept in his car seat! I think he must be having a growth spurt because this was the second evening in a row that he'd took long, hard naps. Anyway, we were so tired that we all went to sleep after M's bottle, and I didn't get his picture done. I made sure to do it tonight as soon as he was home from daycare. I am already sad that Manning is getting bigger, but I LOVE his new developments.

Manning is now wearing 3-6 month or 6 month clothes. He especially has a hard time with footed sleepers because he has big feet. With Mommy having a size 11 and Daddy having a size 14, it was to be expected.

Manning is more and more alert for longer periods of time. Some days he only takes a few short naps lasting anywhere from twenty minutes to forty minutes. He is still sleeping through the night for anywhere between seven and nine hours.

Manning is starting to develop his hand eye coordination. He now reaches up and grabs the toys that hang from his car seat handle or from his bouncy chair. He got a toy Teddy Bear for Christmas that hangs on his bouncy chair and sings. He LOVES it and has even managed to pull it hard enough a few times to unstick the velcro and get it down.

Call me a liar, but Manning is walking with assistance. hahaha It's the craziest thing to type that. He has always had unusually stiff/strong legs. The other day Nathan was holding his torso and he would put one foot down, put the other down in front of it, etc. all the way across the floor. It is unbelievable to see a baby his size and age do that. I'll have to video it soon to prove I'm not crazy. Or maybe it's more common than I realize?

Manning wears a size 2 diaper. He still takes six ounce bottle about every three hours except through the night.

Everyone still comments on how happy of a baby Manning is and how easy he is to deal with. His babysitter loves him so much and said that he's the easiest baby ever.

Manning has started to cry really hard when he gets over-stimulated and is super tired and can't fall asleep. I think he is still learning how to shut off the outside world and fall asleep on his own. This might be because we swaddle him at night and sleep in silence.

Okay enough rambling. I just don't ever want to forget all of these little details!

Here are some pictures of our sweetie.
He is Mommy (and Daddy's) little treasure!

Look at that precious smile!

He is so cute!

Hey, who is that?!

Manning's First Valentine's Day

Since I might never let Manning date, I decided I'd be his Valentine this year. Daddy was willing to share my affections. Isn't he so cute!?

Manning's First Superbowl

We don't want to discuss how the game ended, so I'll let this be a picture heavy post. :)

We didn't tell him who was winning.

Some people thought it'd be cute to bury M in stuffed animals. He loved it. :)

2 Month Immunizations

Manning had his 2 month Dr. appointment on February 4. I was excited to see how much he'd grown, but I knew it would be hard to see him get his immunizations. I had no idea how hard it would be and I'm so surprised I didn't cry. Nathan took these pictures. I looked away when the shots were happening and these pictures just break my heart, but I think that M might want to see them someday.
Look how cute he is. I just love his little personality!

He's wondering why we won't put any clothes on him.

*tear*

Mama trying to make him feel better

Still pretty upset. This went on for a good twenty minutes but he eventually settled down.

12 lb. 5 oz. 50th percentile
16 inch head circumference 50th percentile
23 inches long 25th percentile

It is weird to Nathan and I that he is "short" but we are very glad that M is catching up on his weight. Also we switched his formula AGAIN yesterday. He is now on Nutramigen. So far he seems to be doing really well with it. It is some stinky stuff and makes his diapers pretty nasty, but if it makes his tummy feel better then it's great.

Dr. Seuss' newest fan

Our friends gave Manning a gift with some of the cutest clothes ever in it. I was so excited when I saw this Dr. Seuss onesie because I bought these leggings as soon as I found out I was pregnant and I knew they'd look perfect together! Isn't he so adorable?!

Baby Guido

Before Manning was born I found this adorable velour Calvin Klein outfit at TJ Maxx. It made me laugh because my husband and I used to watch the Sopranos a lot when we were dating and I knew he'd like it. Recently Jersey Shore has also become a favorite in our house. So, here is our baby Guido.

I just love the look he is giving me in this picture. He is the sweetest thing.

Swaddle

Many people will probably be jealous to hear this, but Manning pretty much sleeps through the night now, and really has been for several weeks. Yes, we know how lucky we are. I contribute about 90% of it to swaddling. Sometimes he grunts a lot and gets mad when we first swaddle him, which makes me feel guilty, but I know that getting the sleep he needs makes him much happier. Here is proof that we aren't the worst parents ever. :) If you are a parent and your baby won't sleep well through the night, give swaddling a try. We don't always use the swaddle blanket like what's pictured. Receiving blankets work really well too.

Sweet Sleeper

I have not had a lot of time to blog lately, but because I want to document these things for the future, here are several posts with pictures. Hopefully you enjoy!

Sorry it's sideways. Blogger won't let me rotate. Isn't this the sweetest sleeper you have seen?
