Deacon had a fever yesterday that broke after some help from ibuprofen, but he woke up burning up this morning so we had some snuggles in our bed with daddy before he got up for the day. Manning actually slept until 7:30 for the first time in awhile and woke up in a really great mood. He said, "Did my dad go to work?" and I told him not yet and told him to go say hi to his daddy in our room. He walked into our room, looked at Nathan and said, "I hafta poop."
Exciting mornings around here. ;)
Since Deacon doesn't feel good I'm allowing a little more TV watching than normal this morning. We were sitting on the couch watching Bubble Guppies (Manning's new favorite show) and I reached over and rubbed Manning's back while he watched. He looked up at me with the sweetest little voice and said, "Thanks doing that mom." I guess if he's going to be super sweet to me I'll let him get away with calling me "mom" instead of "mama" or "mommy". Anyway, I thought that was so sweet that he thanked me for rubbing his back, and then I nearly died of sweetness when Deacon reached over and started rubbing Manning's back with me. He was being so sweet and gentle, and my heart just burst. These are the things that make me grateful I'm home with these sweet boys. Even when there are hard moments, it is so worth it to see them becoming best friends.
